The legend and multiple F1 World Champion Ayrton Senna was an avid motorcycle enthusiast, and his favoured daily rider was a Ducati 851. Being a personal friend of Claudio Castiglioni, owner of Ducati in the early 90’s, it was no surprise that the fronds embarked upon a very limited build of ‘Senna’ models of the worlds most sexy bike, Massimo Tamburini’s beautiful 916.

First hinted at the 1994 Bologna Motor Show, the 916 Senna was a special edition to commemorate the Formula 1 World Champion, with all proceeds going to the Ayrton Senna Foundation to support Brazilian youth. Ayrton, who signed off on the model’s release shortly before his untimely and tragic death in May 1994, also endorsed the plan to build 3 only editions of the 916 Senna. A mere 752 Senna’s were produced in total over the three series years, with only 301 of the second 1997 series II ever manufactured.

The 916 Senna offered here is a series II and has travelled less than 3,500k’s and been retained in perfect original condition. Part of an extensive Senna collection based in Switzerland, this and other Senna collectibles and being offered by our long-time friend and German agent, Harald Turner.  Located in Switzerland, the advertised price includes shipping and arrival charges into Sydney.
