Following the enormous popularity of Suzuki’s incredible GSX-R750, it didn’t take long for the factory to realise Australia was the home of big capacity superbikes with the 1100 GSXR. The 1100 was an instant hit with its aluminium box frame housing a massive 128 horsepower oil-cooled engine, and all finished in a spectacular fully enclosed bodywork and weighing a tiny 200kg, incredible stats for the era.

This Australian delivered version has received a minor cosmetic makeover but beyond paint is essentially original. Currently on display in the Raidermoto Rare & Collectible section of Salt Creek Motorcycles, Ballina, on NSW’s Far North Coast.
