1992 Bimota Tesi 1D – BRAND NEW SOLD 2021

The Tesi 1D was Bimota’s first ever hub steering superbike, and only 20 were ever built. This time-capsule example was a special order for a buyer who intended to keep the bike in pristine original from the factory. This bike has never ridden, in fact it was never even started after assembly. It was ordered from Bimota to be supplied without fluids of any type, no coolant, no brake/clutch fluids, no battery; it was prepared specifically for long-term display.

The current (second) owner believes all mechanical components inside the engine were coated with assembly lube from the Ducati factory, and filled with a light-weight oil to preserve internals. The bike was kept in a climate controlled environment without UV light; there has been no deterioration of any rubber pieces and no discoloration of any painted or coated surfaces, and all metal surfaces are as new, as are all anodising and zinc plating.  

The 3 cast iron Brembo rotor surfaces are as original, the foam solo seat pad and backrest is still uncompressed. The bike was ordered with racing slicks tires, brand new, levers, grips, pegs, chain, sprockets, everything is unmarked and in completely new condition, as they were in 1992.

This Bimota Tesi 1D comes with all the original ownership documents, owner’s manual, warranty booklet, copies of the parts manual and workshop manual, and the original Tesi toolkit in duplicate. The original early Tesi rear stand, and one off custom front stand (for displaying the bike with both tires off the ground), both mph and km/h dash boards. The km dash & computer are in original packaging and the mph dash retains its protective white film. There are two original Weber Marelli P7 ECU computers, one flashed for regular street use and the other flashed for race trim & mapping. Multiple other original spares come with the bike, as does the original red Bimota cover and its correct Bimota bag, both are unused.
