This 1985 built, 1986 first registered Suzuki GSXR-1100 is an extremely rare & truly unique motorcycle. The Suzuki GSXR 1100 produced 130 horsepower & weighed only 197kg, with an aluminium beam frame and progressive single shock rear suspension; it was the fastest big bike of that year with a standing 400 meters in 10.3 seconds and over 260 km/h top speed.

Despite the rarity of this bike, it was ridden and well maintained its entire life, and it is completely original and unmolested. A genuine Serial No.1 and Engine No.1 motorcycle, this is the first of a small number of GSX-R1100 EDS models build by hand in Suzuki’s Hamamatsu R&D factory, and used as a final spec test bike for the 1986 model year production run. The frame is a handmade prototype, most likely on a prototype frame jig, and contains several other one-off features and components such as, cast aluminium headstock with prongs on top, hand assembled frame with minor irregularity to the extruded beams, hand-welded seams (as opposed to neater robotic welding) & the welding seems excessive with seams in locations that didn't appear in the final production bikes, the exhaust has no toe heat-shield, clutch cover has no oil refill amount specified, i.e. special area for this info is blank, painted parts do not match up perfectly in several areas, specifically on left front fairing to side-piece. Bike is fitted with 750 foot-pegs and A27 turn-signals with dark tinted lenses (supplied separate - not legal in Europe).

This bike came with an unusual factory display stand with raised GSXR cast aluminium emblem. Included are the original keys and toolkit with rare Suzuki air gauge for the model’s gas suspension, several early sales brochures and original first edition (1985 Nov/Dec) multi language owner’s manual, super rare first edition parts manual, plus the first edition English language workshop manual for the US model.
